Beyond Engineering: Petrospec’s Commitment to Giving Back

Petrospec is more than an engineering company. Over the past few years, Petrospec has made numerous charitable donations in support of organizations that either our employees or our employees’ kids are involved in. Additionally, Petrospec has sponsored “Indspire,” a national Indigenous registered charity that invests in the education of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis people, and “OSI-CAN,” an Operational Stress Injury/Post Traumatic Stress Support Initiative. Here’s a snapshot of the organizations that Petrospec has sponsored:

  • Vikings Hockey Club – Mike Hrabec son’s hockey team.
  • Team Schoenhardt – Clint Jones son’s curling team
  • Alberta Alpine Ski Team – In support of Ira Terefenko’s nephew who was a member of Team Canada participation in the World University Games in Torino, Italy. He placed 7th overall and is now a candidate for Canada’s World Cup Downhill Ski Team!
  • Indspire – national Indigenous charity
  • Scleroderma Canada
  • Holy House Edmonton – Phil Caddel’s family are members
  • Alberta Women of Industry
  • Thorhild Minor Hockey – Justin Wonsik son’s hockey tournament
  • 2024 & 2025 Central Alberta Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
  • Edmonton First Responders Half Marathon - donation entry goes to OSI-CAN

Petrospec aims to continue supporting community initiatives, big and small. We’re proud to support a broad variety of organizations to foster the continued professional achievements of its members. Way to go, team!
